Cuentos de Ensalada: A Soap Opera for Spanish 1 & 2
The Author of Cuentos de Ensalada
Stephanie Campbell (née Graham) grew up in Los Angeles in the 1950's
and '60's. She learned Spanish in the public schools, starting in the
6th grade. As an undergraduate she spent two months in
Brazil and six months in Chile in 1972-73. She received her B.A. in
Spanish Literature and Latin American Studies from the University of
California, Santa Cruz, and an M.A. in Spanish Literature from the
University of California, San Diego. During a fifteen-year career she
has taught ESL and Spanish for Native Speakers (at Belmont High School
in Los Angeles), and currently teaches Spanish at Ruben S. Ayala High
School in Chino Hills, California. She has presented on these stories
for CLTA (California Language Teachers Association) and other
organizations. She is an active member of IEFLA (Inland Empire
Foreign Language Association) and subscriber of FLTEACH, a listserve
on the Internet for foreign language teachers.
